What's New for 2010
What's New for 2010
-Thanks to your many requests and comments, we have slightly modified the meeting schedule this year. In order to facilitate more time on the mountain, we have shortened the morning break to 10 minutes and are starting the afternoon session at 4:15pm. Enjoy!
-This year we will be providing internet access in the Vendor/break area to facilitate a quick check of the weather or your email. We hope you will take advantage of seeing our vendors and their products while you are there.
-We are happy to announce the addition of Turning Point Audience Response technology for our meeting this year. This system allows our speakers and case presenters to ask questions of or poll the audience for opinions and feedback. Audience members have a remote control "clicker" that allows them to voluntarily answer questions. The result of the "poll" can then be displayed to the entire audience. This gives the listener a chance to compare practice patterns, opinions, and challenges with other members of the audience. It also helps speakers customize their message to the needs of the audience and allows for building in audience questions on the spot. We think this tool will make our meeting more exciting and interactive.
-This year we are introducing a new case series format for afternoon lectures. This will consist of an expert panel who will present information about a topic, and will then use interesting cases along with our audience response system to discuss controversial or difficult anesthetic problems. We hope this provides a chance for stimulating discussion as well as an opportunity to interact with and see how your peers handle challenging situations.
-In an effort to control cost and improve our environmental impact, we are trying to phase out paper from our meeting. As we move to more electronic media, you will notice a request only printed syllabus (CD ROM available for all attendees) as well as a transition to email and the web for conference information.
